CHALLENGES

It is an incredible challenge to provide the high levels of light required for a fast moving ball, while controlling glare. The lighting levels for this facility had to meet specific performance criteria to accommodate a variety of sports and meet the appropriate play standards in accordance with average maintained illuminance, uniformity of light, colour temperature, high CRI and lumen depreciation hours.

It is a disruptive and expensive job to to change HID lamps in these high bay applications. Therefore, a low maintenance LED fitting had to be chosen for this application.

SOLUTIONS

The purpose-designed LED light engine at the heart of the CXB is IP65 rated ensuring the highest level protection against dust and has superior lumen depreciation characteristics.  The Cree CXB has the ability to maintain high performance over a very long period of time. The Cree CXB offers improved visibility for players, spectators and referees plus maintenance, energy cost savings for the facility owners.
